OP Welcomes Bill Wolf to Editorial Advisory Board
Organic Processing Magazine is excited to welcome a true organic pioneer, Bill Wolf, to our Editorial Advisory Board. Wolf is the president of Wolf, DiMatteo + Associates, which works with organic and sustainable companies worldwide on issues including organic system plan design and implementation, policy, sourcing and organic regulatory compliance. Wolf ‘s background in the organic industry goes back over 35 years and encompasses nearly every aspect of the organic industry, from farming to food processing. He has successfully helped launch a range of products, from fertilizers and pest controls, to organic foods and personal care items. Wolf has served as president of OTA and OMRI, and has acted as an advisor to numerous companies and government agencies, including the USDA. Honors include the “Outstanding Individual Achievement Award” given annually by the OTA. Wolf is active as a founding organizer of the New Resource Bank, a new commercial bank that serves the financial needs of organic and green businesses. He also lectures worldwide and has published books on organic growing methods.

Steaz Iced Teaz received two “Best of 2008” awards from BevNet, the leading online community website for the beverage industry. Steaz was named Best Tea of 2008 and tied for Best Organic Product of 2008.

Mountain Rose Herbs earned Co-op America’s People’s Choice Award for 2008 Green Business of the Year. Mountain Rose Herbs adheres as much as possible to producing zero waste. Its entire staff of 60 people produces the same waste as an average four-person household. The company uses 100 percent post-consumer recycled paper and all its delivery trucks run on 100 percent locally produced biodiesel. It is also one of the only U.S. companies to carry fair trade certified herbs.

David Bennell was recently named the new executive director of Organic Exchange. Bennell was formerly the director of the Forest Stewardship Council Global Fund and manager of product research, testing, and environmental affairs at L.L. Bean. LaRhea Pepper, the executive director since 2005, will be the senior director.
