Chr Hansen Rolls Out Organic in the U.S.
Danish ingredients firm Chr Hansen has repackaged its range of organic ingredients to target U.S. organic manufacturers. The range includes colors, flavors, seasonings, and dairy and probiotic cultures for use in foods labeled “made with organic ingredients,” as defined by the National Organic Program (NOP). The U.S. marks the first global roll out for the repackaged organic range from Chr Hansen. The organic ingredients portfolio includes organic colors, such as annatto for cheddar cheese, derived from natural sources and developed to be acid, heat and light stable in organic foods and beverages. Some colors also can be used as phytonutrients. Chr. Hansen’s NOP-compliant dairy cultures for use in organic cheese, yogurt, and other fermented milk products offer acidification, gas formation, flavor, texture, and phage resistance characteristics.
